Matt Welch receives Build Member of the Year award in Scott County
Matt Welch of Premier Construction has received the Builder Member of the Year award from the Scott County Home Builders Association (SCHBA).

He was recognized for his commitment to high-quality home building, the association, and the community.

Welch, a Registered Builder, is currently constructing homes priced from $120,000 to $600,000 in Georgetown and Lexington. He entered a house in the Scott County Tour of Homes each of the past four years. His 2004 tour entry received four awards.

Welch donates his time and materials to Habitat for Humanity. He also is a board member of the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce and SCHBA.

This past year, I purchased a home in Georgetown from Tom and Janet Johnson. The builder was Matt Welch. All of these people were wonderful to work with. They go the extra mile to make things work.

I cannot say enough good about Matt Welch as a builder. He is there when you have any problems. There has been a lot of construction on the street, and he has gone to a lot of trouble to keep the streets clean and traffic moving. He has shown a lot of respect for the people living here while continuing to build. He is very knowledgeable concerning requirements, codes and inspections.

So many times we never hear good things. This young man and the people working for him are very honest, upfront and helpful and do an excellent job. Thank you to all of them. -Brenda D.
